A calculation result is only worth what can be verified. The Dosimex codes are validated against MCNP and RayXpert, reference Monte-Carlo codes, and compared with Microshield in independent end-of-study works. The complete files are available below.

We see great value in using DOSIMEX. Simple to use, it covers a very large number of the calculations required in operational radiation protection. It is the RP engineer's calculator — and much more.
Beyond being a modelling tool, Dosimex is a substantial and useful database when you work in radiation protection. Its educational side also lets newcomers grasp and get familiar with physics and how particles interact with matter.
Without Dosimex, I would never have started coding. Using Dosimex GX has often let me back up my radiation protection choices.
Dosimex has immense educational qualities — its simplicity of use, its clarity, and the quality of the explanations in the manual. The speed of execution, the clarity of the explanations and the completeness of the validation files give Dosimex real operational value when reviewing safety case files.
A CNRS working group was created in 2016 to work on implementing ASN decision no. 2013-DC-0349 and the difficulties of applying the calculation note defined in the NFC15-160 standard. The Dosimex G tool was used to propose an alternative theoretical demonstration. The ASN accepted this approach. Around ten crystallography devices were thus brought into compliance on the CNRS campus in Orléans.
